Virginia is for lovers, they say.
Maybe that’s why not one but two Virginia Beach women have been cast on “The Bachelor” in the past couple of years.
The latest is Victoria Fuller, a 25-year-old medical sales representative who works part-time at a yoga studio and has lived in Virginia Beach her entire life, her bio says.
She is competing against 29 contestants for a rose — and the heart of 28-year-old Peter Weber. Fuller also went to college here. She graduated from Old Dominion University in 2015 with a degree in economics, a university spokeswoman said.
A self-described country music-lover and family-oriented woman, Fuller loves a man who’s in touch with his feelings and can make her laugh.
“She wants a man who can love her through the good, the bad and the ugly,” Fuller’s bio said.
The bachelor is from Westlake Village, California, and was a former contestant on the most recent season of “The Bachelorette.” He failed to win that lady’s affections, and is still looking for love.
The airline pilot likes dancing, laughter and adventure, according to the show. He nearly made it to the end last season, but had his heart broken in Greece.
The series, now in its 24th season, premiered Monday night. It follows a single man as he goes on a series of dates with 30 women.
He eliminates participants throughout the show, giving each remaining woman a rose to let her know she’s safe until the next round. Participants travel the world with the bachelor, and at the end he chooses one to be his wife, proposing on national television.
Much of the series was filmed before it began airing this week. But according to TMZ, Fuller and Weber were recently spotted in Hampton Roads walking hand-in-hand, a possible indication Fuller made it to the final four.
When asked whether Fuller could comment on her participation in the show, an ABC spokeswoman said none of the contestants, their family or friends can be interviewed until the cast member gets the boot — or an engagement ring.
If Weber chooses Fuller, he should come bearing two roses — one for her and one for her black lab, Buxton. Apparently, the pair are inseparable. In an Instagram post about bullying and rumors she has endured, Fuller called the dog “the best friend I’ve ever had in my life.”
Like most reality TV shows, “The Bachelor” is laced with drama, heartbreak and flaring personalities.
Two seasons ago, Lauren Burnham, another Virginia Beach native, found herself in a pickle. During the finale, bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. chose another contestant and proposed. But he called off the engagement weeks later.
He then flew to Virginia Beach to win Burnham back, and proposed to her during the “After the Final Rose” special. The pair married in January last year in Hawaii, and their daughter was born in May.
No word on how long the 24th season will run, but the show airs at 8 p.m. Mondays.
